Fall Home Essentials

It’s that time of year again. The cooler weather is slowly starting to appear and the scent of pumpkin spice is lingering. It’s a time of year that everyone loves. Perhaps because it give us a break from the sweltering heat and invokes a feeling of comfort. There isn’t anything better than coming home after a long day and getting into a pair of flannel pjs, lighting a candle and snuggling up on the couch. Here are a few ways you can cozy up your home and get it ready for the cooler seasons.

  • Porch Decor

    • The front porch/entryway is the first thing people see when visiting your home, so adding decor here is a great way to make your home seem more inviting. Wreaths, pumpkins, welcome mats and even fall flowers are all great ways to add a seasonal touch to your porch.

  • A Set of Flannel Sheets

    • It may not be cold enough quite yet, but flannel sheets are an essential for colder weather. Flannel sheets hold warmth in so you don’t have to worry about crawling into a cold pair of crisp sheets.

  • A Chunky Knit Throw

    • A throw/blanket can make even the chicest and modern of leather couches look super cozy and snuggle worthy. Opting for warmer colors or neutrals adds that seasonally inspired accent all while making the room seem a bit more inviting.

  • Candles

    • There isn’t anything that screams cozy more than candles. Adding a bunch of candles not only creates a warm glow, it can emulate a fireplace if you don’t have one. A few fall inspired scents are pumpkin spice, fir, apple and amber.

  • Throw Pillows

    • Throw pillows are a great way to add seasonal decor to a room as you can easily switch them out. Go for a pillow that’s oversized and fluffy. You won’t regret it!

  • Switch Out Your Rugs

    • Nobody likes walking around on a cold floor with bare feet. Try placing a rug in a well traveled area of your home that’s a bit softer such as faux fur or plush shag.
